Aurora Watch
An elevated solar wind stream, possibly tied to a weak transient passage led to a surprise period of active geomagnetic conditions (Kp4) at higher latitudes. Aurora sky watchers should be alert during the next 12 hours.
Solar Quiet Continues
The Earth facing side of the Sun remains void of visible sunspots for the 9th day in a row. A few weak plage regions are present, but do not appear too promising. The chance for solar flares should remain very low in the short term.
